SWCD Works with Villages and Towns to bring NY Rising Funds to local communities
The Schoharie County Soil and Water Conservation District will soon be entering into agreements with the Villages of Schoharie and Middleburgh and the Town of Schoharie to bring much needed flood relief money to the areas hardest hit by hurricane Irene. These funds will be used to mitigate flood damages and help prevent further problems. Unique to these projects is the fact that LOCAL community members recommended the projects, and the LOCAL Conservation District will oversee the projects.
