Liberty is easy to grow, and productive. It is resistant to fireblight and powdery mildew, and highly resistant to scab and cedar-apple rust. So if you (or your neighbor) has Cedar trees on your property, this is the tree to plant. It is the perfect apple for the first-time grower and it is the backbone of any organic orchard. Ripening midseason, it is  hardy, large, sweet-tart, aromatic, crisp, and juicy–perfect for fresh eating or for cider blends. Tree will grow to be 15 feet tall. Plant 15 feet away from other trees. Temporary stake needed for first 3 years of support. Not recommend for hard-pan soils.
